Useful info
Tickets, discounts, and passes
Mi Primer Festival is held simultaneously in Barcelona, Madrid, and other towns. Ticket prices, discounts, and passes may vary from one location to another depending on the venues. The information you will find below applies to the festivals in Barcelona and Madrid.
Cinema tickets are purchased in advance through this website or the cinemas' websites. Advance sales are activated approximately one month before the festival begins. Here you will find all the purchase links. It may happen that some sessions are not on sale; this occurs in some public institution venues that directly manage ticket sales and follow their own publication schedule.
Tickets can also be purchased at the cinema box offices on the same day as the session, provided they have not sold out in advance.
Ticket prices vary depending on the venue and type of session, ranging between €2 and €10. Here you will find all the purchase links.
No, exchanges or refunds for tickets purchased in advance are not allowed.
All children over 18 months of age must pay for a ticket. As an exception, some institutional cinemas (Auditori de Sant Martí, Filmoteca de Catalunya, Cine Doré, CC Eduardo Úrculo, and CC Fuente de San Pedro) offer free or discounted tickets for minors. You can check the price variations for these venues on their websites or when you start the purchase process.
Yes, for some festival sessions, families holding a large family identification card can benefit from a €2 discount on the general admission price. A maximum of 6 discounted tickets per session is allowed.
To enter the screening room, families who have purchased tickets with this discount must go to the box office to collect them and show their large family identification.
In the case of Barcelona, sessions at the Auditori de Sant Martí and the Filmoteca de Catalunya are excluded from this discount (you can check their websites for detailed rates), while in Madrid, sessions at Condeduque, Cine Doré, CC Eduardo Úrculo, and CC Fuente de San Pedro are excluded.
Yes, for some festival sessions, single-parent families can benefit from a €2 discount on the general admission price. A maximum of 4 discounted tickets per session is allowed.
To enter the screening room, families who have purchased tickets with this discount must go to the box office to collect them and show a supporting document proving their single-parent status (regional card if applicable, family book, minors' ID, or civil registry inscription).
Yes! This year you can choose between two types of passes to enjoy more sessions at a better price. In Barcelona, sessions at the Auditori de Sant Martí and the Filmoteca de Catalunya are excluded from the pass (you can check their websites for detailed rates), while in Madrid, sessions at Condeduque, Cine Doré, CC Eduardo Úrculo, and CC Fuente de San Pedro are excluded. All cine-concerts are also excluded from the passes.
Family pass (2 sessions): You can buy tickets for two different sessions at a reduced price: €5/ticket. The pass is flexible: you can buy between 2 and 4 tickets per session, but it is mandatory to purchase tickets for two sessions. The code can only be used once, so you will need to redeem all the tickets included in the pass in a single purchase.
Group pass (10 tickets): Designed for families and groups of friends who want to come to the festival together. It includes 10 tickets for a total of €45 (€4.50/ticket). Tickets can be distributed among different sessions and people.
Passes can be purchased here.
Once you have purchased the pass for Barcelona or Madrid, you will receive a numerical code that you must enter every time you buy a ticket. If you bought the family pass, you must apply the code to two sessions, whereas if you purchased the group pass, you can redeem it for a single session or multiple ones.
When buying tickets through the festival website, you must select the number of tickets you want to redeem with the "general admission" rate and then enter the pass code in the corresponding box (within the "available promotions" section). The system will automatically apply the discount.
Accessibility
Mi Primer Festival's commitment to inclusion and accessibility grows even more in its 19th edition, with the goal of ensuring all children can enjoy the cinematic experience on equal terms.
Yes, all festival venues have adapted access for people with reduced mobility, ensuring the cinema is an open space without physical barriers. However, room 1 at Mk2 Cine Paz (Madrid) only has two spaces for people with mobility issues; the rest of the seats are accessed via stairs. Room 5 at Mk2 Cine Paz (Madrid) is not accessible.
In any case, if you are a person with specific mobility needs or will be attending in a wheelchair, we recommend you contact us so we can assist you properly when you arrive at the cinema. You can send us an email to hola@primerfestivaldecine.com.
This year, the festival offers three adapted screenings in Barcelona that will feature adapted subtitles, a magnetic loop, and the presentation and closing of the film in Catalan Sign Language (LSC). This way, we guarantee an accessible experience for deaf audiences.
For the first time, the festival is incorporating audio description so that children with visual impairments can follow the stories and enjoy the cinematic experience.
In 2026, you will be able to enjoy three relaxed sessions in Barcelona and one in Madrid, specially designed for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They have been designed in collaboration with specialized organizations and offer a sensory-adapted environment: there will be ambient light during the screening, the volume will be lower than usual, children will be able to get up and walk around the room during the session, and an anticipation guide with pictograms will be provided for each session. If you want more information or would like us to send you the anticipation guides, email us at hola@primerfestivaldecine.com.
Yes, we continue to create anticipation guides, both for the Barcelona venues and for the sessions adapted for people with ASD, in order to help families prepare for their trip to the cinema. If you want more information or would like us to send you the anticipation guides, email us at hola@primerfestivaldecine.com.
Voting
Mi Primer Festival is a festival that encourages active participation from the audience, both families and schools. Voting is a good way to awaken children's critical thinking and make them feel like protagonists of the event.
Young spectators have a great responsibility in the international short and feature film competition sessions, as their votes decide the five audience awards of Mi Primer Festival.
In addition, voting is one of the most enriching experiences for the festival organization because it guides us in understanding the tastes and interests of children. This information allows us to adapt and improve the programming year after year. Voting also helps us introduce a playful element into the cinematic experience and spark dialogue and debate within the family and the classroom.
After watching any session of Mi Primer Festival, it's time to vote! If you can't do it at that moment, don't worry, online voting will be open until November 23rd, the last day of the festival.
To vote at the cinema, you just have to pick up your ballot, decide your vote, and drop it in one of the ballot boxes you will find at the exit of the room. If you prefer to vote online, you must go to the page of the session you watched and click on the "Voting" link. If you watched a feature film, you will have to decide what score to give it using a 5-star system, just like film critics do! However, if you watched a short film session, the voting will be twofold: using a system of 4 faces or emojis, you will decide if you liked the session as a whole, and then you will have to choose the short film you liked the most.
Children's Jury
The Mi Primer Festival jury is a mixed jury made up of four children and six professionals from the audiovisual and education sectors. The four members of the children's jury are chosen through an open call that all young cinephiles between 9 and 12 years old can apply for. From all the applications received, two children from Barcelona are selected to be part of the short film competition jury, and two children from Madrid are selected to be part of the feature film competition jury.
With the support and guidance of the professional jury members, the children who are part of the children's jury must discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the films in the festival's various competitions and choose the best film in each category by consensus. The winning films are awarded the Mi Primer Festival jury prize.
If you want to be part of the Mi Primer Festival children's jury, you must record a presentation video lasting a maximum of two minutes and answering the following questions according to this structure:
- First of all, introduce yourself. We want to know your name, how old you are, where you live, and for you to tell us something about yourself, about your personality.
- Now you have to answer these questions:
- What is cinema for you?
- What kind of movies do you like the most and which ones do you not like at all?
- What is your favorite movie? Why do you like it so much?
- Why do you want to be part of the Mi Primer Festival jury?
