This workshop enables children to learn about the origins of special effects in cinema by making short films using basic techniques, inspired by the creative genius of Georges Méliès and Alice Guy. Firstly, we will discover these early filmmakers who brought magic to the screen and then, in groups, we will come up with an idea to make a short fantasy film.
This workshop enables participants to work on all the stages of a film shoot (concept, production, recording and editing) while exploring this film genre that we are so passionate about.

Ginebra Abril holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University and completed her studies with a Master's Degree in Visual Arts and Education at the University of Barcelona. She is currently engaged coordinating educational projects at Digital Films, a Barcelona-based audiovisual content production company specialising in film education and visual culture (film literacy).
