Summary

Marcel is an adorable, talkative 1-inch-tall shell who can walk, talk and express his thoughts about the wonderful world around him. He lives with his grandmother in the garden of an Airbnb. One day, a guest at the house, a film director called Dean, becomes fascinated by Marcel and decides to make a documentary about him.

A touching tale, charming and funny, which combines stop-motion animation with real images.

Dean Fleischer Camp is an American film director, film producer, screenwriter and film editor. He created the “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” short films with the actress Jenny Slate, and later also directed and starred in the feature film of the same name.

In July 2022, it was announced that Fleischer Camp would direct the live-action remake of "Lilo & Stitch" for Disney.
