Summary
Brendan is a 12-year-old monk living in remote Kells Abbey in eleventh-century Ireland. With the other brothers, he helps build a wall to resist Viking raids. He embarks on a new life of adventure when he meets a teacher who arrives from foreign lands with an ancient, unfinished magical book.
