Elena Hormiga

Elena Hormiga is an illustrator. She has published with publishers such as SM, Anaya, Edelvives, Alba, Apila, Destino, Santillana, and NubeOcho. Her work as an author has been translated into several languages, and her illustrations have been selected for various international exhibitions and showcases, including the prestigious Bratislava Biennial of Illustration, the NAMI Concours in Korea, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, and the Ibero-American Ilustra Catalogue in Mexico, where she received a special mention in 2024.

Her work has received several awards, including the First Prize for Picture Books from Edelvives and the XLII Destino Apel·les Mestres Award for the book La sombra del rey.

In addition to her editorial and personal artistic work, she regularly works on commercial projects and advertising campaigns for brands across different sectors, including Samsung, Bic, and McDonald’s. She also designs labels for numerous wine brands.

As an educator, she collaborates with various higher education institutions and teaches workshops for children and adults.
