Francisco Javier María Marcos is a director, animator, and audiovisual creator specializing in stop motion. Since the late 1990s, he has developed his career across animation, art direction, and audiovisual creation, working in television, film, advertising, and festivals. He currently coordinates the Audiovisual Design area and the Master’s Degree in Stop Motion Animation at BAU, University Centre of Arts and Design of Barcelona, and directs MediAV, an audiovisual mediation space that connects creative practice, research, and social awareness. His work explores the possibilities of animation as a way of addressing experiences, identities, and realities that often lack an image of their own, understanding audiovisual practice as a tool for listening, fostering empathy, and constructing narratives.
