The masterclass "Writing animation with your inner child", given by screenwriter Francesc Xavier Manuel, proposes a fresh and transparent approach to creating animation stories aimed at children. This session will explore how to approach audiovisual narrative by connecting directly with childhood through play, curiosity, and personal experience, avoiding paternalistic stances. Through this method, the author invites us to turn our childhood "selves"—at 5, 8, or 12 years old—into true screenwriting partners, constantly asking ourselves if the story we are writing would excite the child we once were. An interesting proposal to reflect on writing and creative processes focused on children's audiences, which will explore Gianni Rodari's Grammar of Fantasy; fantasy as a range of thematic metaphors; and the development of a personal writing credo.
