‘Sailing Through Stories’ wins the 2025 Stop-Motion Animation Contest at Mi Primer Festival
We already have a winner of the 2025 Mi Primer Festival 30’’ Stop-Motion Animation Contest! The jury has awarded first prize to Sailing Through Stories, a beautifully crafted short film that turns reading into a true adventure.
The winning piece stands out for its poetic visual metaphor, drawing a clear parallel between the pages of a book and the waves of the sea. Through this imagery, the film captures the joy of reading as a journey full of discovery and imagination. The jury praised the short for its sensitivity, creativity and the strong cohesion of a story that is both evocative and finely executed.
The jury also awarded a special mention to Vídeolibros for its outstanding use of special effects and for building a deeply moving narrative that resonates emotionally with the audience.
Stop-motion as a creative learning experience
Mi Primer Festival’s stop-motion contest has become a much-loved tradition, encouraging children and families to explore storytelling through hands-on animation. Using simple materials and a lot of imagination, participants discover cinema as a playful, creative and educational tool.
The high quality and originality of this year’s entries once again highlight the incredible creativity that emerges when families come together to tell stories.
Congratulations to the teams behind Sailing Through Stories and Vídeolibros, and a big thank you to all the families who took part in the 2025 contest!
