Jordi Sánchez-Navarro is a professor and researcher at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), where he currently directs the Information and Communication Sciences Studies and teaches and researches the cultural history of cinema and television, the culture of design and popular music. Since 1989 he has written in various media about comics, film and television. He was director of the Barcelona International Comic Fair (1997-2000) and deputy director of the Catalonia-Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (2001-2004), in which he continues to collaborate as a programmer of "Anima't", the section of animation. He has given numerous courses and conferences on fantasy cinema, science fiction, comics and, especially, the history and aesthetics of animated cinema.
