Peter Lord és cofundador i director creatiu d'Aardman. Va cofundar l'estudi amb el seu col·laborador David Sproxton, el 1972.
Com a director, Lord ha estat guardonat amb dues nominacions a l'Oscar ® com a millor curt d'animació, la primera el 1992 per Adam, i per Wat's Pig el 1996, i la millor pel·lícula d'animació per a Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists el 2013. També ha obtingut nominacions als BAFTA per Adam, The Amazing Adventures of Morph, War Story i Chicken Run i, com a productor de Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
