VIVABOOK Lab 2025 announces its selection committee: three great references in children's audiovisual

VIVABOOK Lab scriptwriting laboratory , promoted by El Meu Primer Festival , was created in 2025 with the aim of promoting the audiovisual adaptation of literary works for children. In this first edition, the program has a top-level selection committee , made up of three prominent professionals from the film and education sectors who will vouch for the quality and creative potential of the selected projects.

A committee with an expert perspective and commitment to emerging talent

This year, the candidacies will be evaluated by Chelo Loureiro , David Castro and David Matamoros , three essential names in the field of animation, production and audiovisual education.

Chelo Loureiro is a filmmaker and producer, founder of Abano Producións , specializing in animated films. She has been awarded three consecutive Goya Awards (2022-2024) and has participated in festivals such as San Sebastián and Annecy , standing out for her commitment to auteur cinema with her own perspective and for her constant support for young creators.

David Castro , director, producer and educator, is a reference in stop-motion animation and film education . He has been nominated for the Goya Awards and has been part of programs such as La Incubadora de l'ECAM . He is currently writing his first feature film as a screenwriter and director, and works on several fiction and animation projects from a creative and educational perspective. In 2025 he created Ácido Cítrico, a production company focused exclusively on animation.

David Matamoros , producer and screenwriter, has an international career with titles such as El hoyo , La casa de Jack or Evolution , with presence at the main festivals in the world and resounding successes on platforms. His recent commitment to animation is reflected in Hanna and the Monsters and Dahlia and the Red Book , two outstanding productions of recent years.

Rigorous evaluation for projects with a future

This committee will be responsible for selecting the five participating projects of VIVABOOK Lab 2025 , which will receive a grant of €3,000 and professional support for five months . The program will include specialized training in literary adaptation and writing for children's audiences and will culminate in a pitch session in front of national and international producers .
