Alain Gagnol studied at the Émile-Cohl school in Lyon, before starting animation in 1988 at the Folimage studio in Bourg-lès-Valence. Since then, he has co-directed with Jean-Loup Felicioli several short films and two feature films, including Une vie de chat, released in France on December 15, 2010 and nominated for the 36th César ceremony in 2011 and the 84th ceremony Oscars in 2012.
