Not long after finishing a thesis on Stop Motion Animation, Dorien started working at Beast Animation in 2012 as a production assistant. For 11 years she worked together with Ben Tesseur & Steven De Beul on many Beast productions, starting as production assistant, later evolving to studio manager, line producer & first assistant.

She worked on several series, many short films, advertisements, music videos, idents and corporate videos, from development to post-production, all of them in stop motion animation!

In 2023 Dorien had the chance to work as first Assistant Director on Claude Barras’ 2nd feature “Sauvages”. Now, Dorien works as the first AD on ‘Olivia y el Terremoto Invisible’ by Irène Ibora.
