Celebrating 30 Years of Wallace and Gromit with Aardman Studios

In our sixteenth edition, My First Film Festival pays tribute to the renowned animation studio Aardman, which this year commemorates the 30th anniversary of the release of the Wallace and Gromit short film The Wrong Trousers, winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.

To highlight Aardman's creativity and great impact on the world of animation, we have prepared a unique selection of some of his most emblematic works. In addition, we will have a very special visitor at the Barcelona festival: Mark Simon Hewis, the director of the Aardman Academy, we will also hold a workshop in Barcelona and another in Madrid to learn how to animate with clay, and a contest to encourage participation of the smallest ones.

On the other hand, our audience will have the opportunity to enjoy Chicken Run, the first feature-length film produced by Aardman, which premiered in June 2000, which to this day continues to be the stop-motion animated film. highest grossing motion of all time. The celebration continues with a session dedicated to the famous eccentric inventor couple, Wallace and Gromit, who debuted three decades ago and catapulted the studio to global recognition. Our viewers will be able to take an exciting trip to the past with the screening of The Wrong Pants and The Great Excursion, two works that marked a before and after in animation.

The tribute will reach its climax with the screening of a selection of short films and television episodes produced by the animation studio Aardman.
