Six award-winning animated films compete in the Official Selection of My First Film Festival 2025

My First Film Festival celebrates its 18th edition with an outstanding selection of multi-awarded animated feature films, premiering in Barcelona as part of its Official Competition Section.

Six productions endorsed by their success at major festivals such as Annecy, Cannes, Toronto and San Sebastián, offering a diverse, sensitive and vibrant perspective on contemporary animation for all audiences.

The competing titles take audiences on a journey through different techniques, styles and emotions: from imagination as a refuge in Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake (Spain, 2025), a stop-motion debut feature directed by Irene Iborra —and the first film in this technique produced in Catalonia—, winner of the Gan Foundation Award for Distribution at the Annecy Festival, to the collective tenderness of Animal Tales of Christmas Magic (France, 2024), a tribute to solidarity and nature created by six European women directors.

Among the most anticipated premieres are Tales from the Magic Garden (Czech Republic, 2025), a story about loss and the healing power of imagination; The Songbirds' Secret (France, 2025), a delicate cut-out animation adventure that invites viewers to explore the past with a poetic eye; and Arco (France, 2025), winner of the Cristal for Best Feature Film and the SACEM Award for Best Original Score at Annecy 2025, blending science fiction, vibrant color and emotion in a fable about empathy and friendship.

Completing the line-up is Little Amélie (France, 2025), Audience Award winner at Annecy and official selection at Cannes and Toronto, a film of great visual sensitivity reflecting on the birth of consciousness and identity through the eyes of a child.

All films compete for the Audience Award for Best Feature Film and the Jury Award for Best Feature Film, judged by industry professionals and a children’s jury.

With its thematic and aesthetic diversity, Mi Primer Festival reaffirms itself as a unique window onto the best of international animated cinema, combining discovery, emotion and reflection for new generations of viewers.

The Official Feature Film Section will be screened from 8 to 23 November in Barcelona and Madrid.
