My First Film Festival, an inclusive, accessible space and closer to universal access to culture

With the aim of being an increasingly inclusive festival, this year it will offer 6 sessions designed for people who are deaf or have different degrees of hearing impairment. In total there will be 4 feature films and 2 short film sessions, aimed at different age groups.

My First Film Festival's commitment to accessibility and inclusion continues to grow in its 16th edition. The competition, which will take place in Barcelona and Madrid, aims to offer a unique cinematographic experience for the little ones and their families, and is determined to guarantee that all screening rooms are accessible to people with reduced mobility, which guarantees that all attendees can enjoy the magic of cinema without physical barriers.

This year, the festival will also expand its offering of "quiet film sessions," designed especially for boys and girls with autism spectrum disorders. These sessions adapt the room conditions to your specific needs, with dim ambient lighting always on, lower sound volume, and slow-paced movies.

With the firm objective of being an increasingly inclusive festival, Mi Primer Festival will offer 6 sessions aimed at deaf people or different degrees of hearing impairment, presented by a sign language interpreter. These sessions will include 3 feature films dubbed and with subtitles adapted for deaf people (descriptive subtitles), a feature film without dialogue suitable for all audiences and 2 sessions of short films without dialogue and/or with descriptive subtitles, adapted for different age groups.

In addition, the festival has maintained its historic commitment to reaching boys and girls at risk of social exclusion, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy My First Film Festival. The wide educational offering of the festival allows it to reach schools on the outskirts of Barcelona and Madrid, some of them educational centers of high social complexity. This year, the festival has partnered with the Salto del Eje program, promoted by the High Commissioner against Child Poverty, giving many boys and girls the opportunity to create short films and present them within the framework of film festivals, like ours.

My First Film Festival is proud of its commitment to accessibility, inclusion and equal opportunity, and hopes to provide all attendees with an unforgettable film experience at this edition.
